Le 29 mai 1943,
notre commune "Les Champs-Géraux" dans les Côtes d'Armor, a été le
théâtre d'un fait guerrier tragique comme il s'en est produit dans
bien d'autres endroits: le crash d'une forteresse volante en retour
de mission, provoquant la mort de 11 jeunes soldats. Soixante ans
après, le souvenir chargé d'émotion est resté intact chez les témoins.
Il a ainsi été décidé de commémorer, avec la participation de la population,
le souvenir de cette tragédie le 29 mai 2003. |

On may 29, 1943,
our small district was the scene of a war tragedy, as many others
which occured as well in many other areas : a flying fortresss crash,
when returning from a bombing assignment that resulted in the death
of eleven young men. After nearly 60 years, the emotional load of
this souvenir is still entirely present to all witnesses. A comitee,
including the inhabitants of our small district, was set up in order
to commemorate on the 29 th of may, that tragedy. |
